Campus Immersion Resources
Program description

Psychology, MS

This program is available in two distinct formats to match different student goals. The campus immersion track offers hands-on research training through faculty mentorship, covering research methods, statistical analysis, and data collection, and culminates in a thesis, applied project, or behavioral data science capstone — an ideal path for students aiming toward doctoral study or research careers. The Master of Science in Psychology's digital immersion, or online, option instead emphasizes psychological theory and its practical applications, with coursework exploring human behavior, cognition, and emotion that culminates in a capstone course. Both formats offer electives in areas such as cognitive psychology, neuroscience, health psychology, and social psychology, though the program is not intended to prepare students for clinical practice.

Outcomes

Career opportunities & applicable roles

Further graduate training is required for clinical licensure in most U.S. states, so this master's degree alone does not prepare students for clinical practice or licensure as a psychologist. Instead, the program is designed as a stepping stone to further clinically oriented programs, while also preparing graduates for a range of applied roles that draw on research, data analysis, and human-services skills.
