Program description
Biomedical Informatics and Data Science, MS
For those passionate about both information technology and health care, this program offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in a rapidly growing area of medicine by applying technical expertise to improve human health outcomes.
The Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics and Data Science prepares students to use biomedical data and knowledge to advance patient care. Coursework covers the theory and methods underlying biomedical informatics, including knowledge representation, clinical systems, medical imaging, bioinformatics, and data science, with electives allowing a focus on areas such as mobile health or artificial intelligence. Through collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and regional health care providers, students develop skills that support earlier disease detection, more precise diagnoses, improved patient experiences, and more efficient, higher-quality care.
