Program description

Medical Nutrition, MS

Understanding how nutrition supports health maintenance, disease treatment, and disease prevention is increasingly essential for those working in or preparing to enter the healthcare field. The Master of Science in Medical Nutrition is designed for current and future healthcare providers, medical students, and those in a gap year before professional school, emphasizing self-directed learning grounded in current nutrition research. Students build nutritional assessment skills used by clinicians in practice through an evidence-based, nonthesis curriculum that combines intensive introductory coursework, in-depth study of body systems, and emerging topics in nutrition, making it especially valuable for preprofessional students and graduates of didactic nutrition programs.
